2020 - That's a Wrap!

2020 was quite an unforgettable year - for all the wrong reasons. LVMPD Explorers started off strong but were quickly derailed because of COVID-19. Meetings were cancelled, ExCon was cancelled and civil unrest made many of our members question their very desire to even continue in the program. But still we look back at what otherwise was another great year in the books for the LVMPD Law Enforce...

I was there this year as well!
@@Grace_2910 I was told I was going but sadly bc I didn’t attend the extra training i wasnt able to go but I have next year
@@Grace_2910 so basically they choose you it’s all rank that go mostly Then they have backup (which is what I was chosen for) and not all stations are the same but we had extra training basically sensei is that will be in the comp we go over them and they choose who performed best for back up I had a dance comp that day so I wasn’t able to go no matter what so I didn’t get chosen this year but I’m having problems with my post so I might go to a new one so unless I impress them I will probably just be back up for the rest of my life
I wanna do this!!
You can go to your nearest station and ask if they have the program. If you are in LA county you’ll have to wait a few months because the academy is already currently underway. I recommend it it’s real fun

Nice promotional video! Didn't realize this is the 18th year. Was this just a statewide thing at first, or has it always been open to others to attend?

RIP My friend 🔵⚫️🔵
This is one of the saddest stories i'v seen in a long time. When so many kids go down the wrong path with drugs, gangs etc. And here is a young man so full of life and wanting to do something good in his life, for a future, was to be a cop. A life lost way to soon, he would have done great things and be asset to the PD. Im a former PO in Nyc, worked there in the 1980's and we saw hundreds of good kids like angle who wanted a better life and career. May your memory live forever in all those you've touched.
When young Metro don't trust you
Man! Prayers go out to the family. My God..... I never met him, but to see a young person die really messes me up. I hope to join soon. But man R.I.P. Hope he knew Christ before he passed.
How Ironic. A young person with such focus & full of life. With his entire LIFE in front of him. I am sympathetic to his pursuit as I was in our Vernon Police Explorer Program for 7 years. I can only imagine the life lost was for a purpose that GOD has for him in a greater good. My heart goes out to the family. Carl Slicer, Vernon, Conn. (Alumni 1970-1978). (9787) 18 Dec 15.
R.I.P Captain, I watched this video, and my heart broke. I am trying to become an explorer for the North Las Vegas Police Department, I will always think about you. May you RIP.
Dear Captain, We all strive to have the enthusiasm and pride that you took with you everywhere. Though I never personally knew you, it feels like we were brothers from the start. Exploring isn't just an extra-curricular activity for kids that are bullied and weak, it's for the strong and courageous young men and women who are pursuing their dreams in Law Enforcement. But most importantly, it's a family. You get to learn the in's and out's of your specific department and make inseparable bonds with those you may be working with in the future. Though your dream was taken from you young, that passion will forever live on in the hearts of us Explorers and police officers, nationwide. Thank you Captain for being a fine example of what the TRUE definition of an Explorer is. Thank you. -Corporal Nick Bohannon, Police Exploring Post 17 Alton, Illinois
definitely better and more intense than NYPD Explorers 😅
From your Fellow Explorers in NC. We all had one goal and we did all to accomplish it. Rest in peace Captain -Sergeant John Easterling Laurinburg Police Department Explorer Post 400
